About the Role

The Surgical Technician plays a vital role in the operating room, providing technical assistance to the physician during surgical and diagnostic procedures. This individual prepares instruments, stocks the operating room, and monitors equipment before, during, and after surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare instruments and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Stock and maintain the operating room with necessary supplies
  • Monitor equipment and ensure proper functioning
  • Provide patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse
  • Work closely with OR staff to provide comprehensive quality patient care
  • Follow proper infection control practices and use of personal protective equipment
Work Schedule

This role requires a Monday-Friday schedule from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with call expectations of 1 day per week, every 4th weekend rotation, and 1-2 holiday calls per year.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technician program, eligible for certification (to become certified within six months of hire)
  • BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year directly related experience
  • Experience in EPIC computer system
