We are seeking a skilled MRI Radiographer to join our team in Community Radiology Valley Forge. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of MRI and MRA procedures, ensuring patient safety protocols, and assisting radiologists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all necessary checks of diagnosis, prescription, Epic order, and patient identification.
- Greets patients, confirms their identification, and performs the correct procedures as directed.
- Obtains patient history, screens patients for any surgeries or implanted items, explains procedures, gains consent for contrast, and verifies GFR as needed.
- Places angiocatheters, injects IV MRI contrast agents as directed by the radiologist.
- Operates the MRI scanner and all RF coils, MRI workstations, patient monitoring equipment, and MR injectors to produce high-quality images.
- Archives and verifies MRI images to hard-copy format as needed.
- Performs quality assurance testing consistent with section protocols.
- Monitors patient status, tolerance, and wellbeing throughout the study.
- Aids radiologists, doctors, and other UPHS team members in completing procedures according to applicable protocol.
- Complies with OSHA, TJC, DOH, and other mandated safety procedures or regulations.
- Maintains necessary inventory supplies for assigned workstation, rotating stock in an orderly fashion, and eliminating outdated items.
- Responds to emergency situations according to department policies.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships and partnerships within the facility and with outside customers of our services.
- Communicates equipment problems and image quality issues.
- Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization.
Credentials:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
- Radiologic Technologist (Required)
- Must be ARRT MRI certified (Required)
- At least 12 months of experience (Required)
- Maintain CEUs (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- Graduated from an approved Radiologic Technology Program/MRI (Required)
