Position Overview:


The Breast Imaging Coordinator will collaborate with the comprehensive breast health team to facilitate the organization of all elements related to screening mammography, diagnostic imaging, interventional breast procedures, clinical assessments, support services, and educational initiatives for women utilizing the breast center's offerings.

This role encompasses clinical responsibilities as necessary to support the full spectrum of breast center services, contributing to the enhancement of patient management and ensuring a safe, cost-efficient care environment.


Qualifications:

Patient Age Range:
Adolescents

Adults

Geriatric (65 years and older)

Essential Education:

Minimum Requirement:
Vocational Training in Radiology or an Associate's degree in Nursing.

Specific Coursework:
Vocational training in Radiologic Technology or an Associate's degree in Nursing.

Newly hired RNs must obtain a BSN from an accredited nursing school within three years of employment or transfer into this role.

Individuals hired or transferred into this position during specified periods must adhere to the conditions outlined in their offer letters and the job description signed upon hire or transfer.

Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to the specified period will be exempt from these requirements.

Preferred Education:
Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
  • Skilled in computer applications.

Required Licensure/Certifications:

For candidates with Radiology education:

  • Current Florida Radiologic Technologist license
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with additional certification in Mammography
  • BLS certification
  • Must achieve certification from the Breast Patient Navigator Certification Program within 18 months of hire or transfer into this role

For candidates with Nursing education:

  • Licensed to practice nursing in Florida
  • BLS certification
  • Must achieve certification from the Breast Patient Navigator Certification Program within 18 months of hire or transfer into this role

Required Experience:
3-5 years of experience in Mammography or as a Registered Nurse

Preferred Licensure/Certifications:
N/A

Preferred Experience:
In-depth knowledge of the ACR accreditation program, clinical indicators, and MQSA standards. Experience in coordinating logistics for community outreach events, including registration, attendee tracking, presentation materials support, and evaluations before and after events.
