A-C-T Environmental & Infrastructure is seeking a skilled CDL Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Bartow, Florida.
This position is responsible for responding to environmental emergencies, performing technical field/office work, and operating mechanical equipment such as Vac Trucks, Super Duster, forklifts, pallet jacks, lift gates, trucks, trailers, and other mechanical equipment as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a valid CDL License-Class A or B with tanker & hazmat endorsements, within 90 days, and experience in environmental, construction, contracting type work, preferred.
Additional qualifications include OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training, experience in serving public and private sector clients, and ability to travel, including some overnight.
The successful candidate will be able to work well with the public, client, and other employees, and possess strong interpersonal skills to support leadership, management, negotiation, and problem-solving functions.
Responsibilities include:
- Responding to environmental emergencies
- Performing technical field/office work
- Operating mechanical equipment
- Maintaining inventory lists and completing various reports and Field Dailies
- Knowledge of terminology, principles of spill responses
- Basic knowledge of proper storage, treatment, and disposal of hazardous materials
- Knowledge of potential hazards associated with Hazardous Wastes
- Ability to work in all weather and environmental conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to forty-five (50) pounds of bulky equipment
- Ability to bend, stoop, sit, and stand
