Job Title: Fire Protection Service Manager

Atlantic Constructors, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Service Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing complete estimates for bids on projects assigned, as well as developing and managing the growth of our Western Virginia Fire Protection group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review all construction documents, including instructions to bidders, scope of work, and general conditions.
  • Budgets and financial reporting for Eastern Virginia group.
  • Perform and lead project tracking activities.
  • Coordinating with responsible leadership for planned growth.
  • Ability to lay out fire protection systems to create an accurate bid takeoff.
  • Solicit subcontractor and vendor quotations to ensure coverage on all scopes of work.
  • Distribute plans, specifications, and addenda to subcontractors and vendors via company FTP website and/or email.
  • Assist in development of bid strategies.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits, which may result in travel time on occasions.
  • Review take-off and pricing for completeness on all self-performed work.
  • Review in detail subcontractor and vendor quotations for full compliance with the plans and specifications.
  • Develop rough draft scope of work for proposals.
  • Assist in negotiating subcontracts and procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Enter estimate into job cost control program and participate in turnover/transition meetings with the operations team.
  • Experience with Fire Protection industry standards, including shop fabrication.
  • Experience in providing budgets, estimates, construction schedules, and manpower projections.
  • Must be able to meet critical deadlines.
  • Work as part of a team and coordinate scope of work between in-house trades (Sprinkler, Sheet Metal, Electrical, etc.).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience in large fire protection construction projects or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years' Estimating/Pre-Construction experience.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and efficiency in fire protection hydraulic calculation software.
  • General understanding of NFPA codes that relate to the Fire Protection industry (NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 24).
  • Understanding and capable of laying out Fire Protection systems.
  • Understanding of financial reporting.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to meet critical deadlines.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen, and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required (i.e., DMV, criminal history).
  • Must adhere to all company policy and procedures.
  • Must be available to work assigned schedules.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
  • Position will require visits to construction and industrial work sites.
Travel:
  • May require infrequent travel (typically not overnight).
Preferred:
  • AAS or BS Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related discipline.
  • Prior military experience.

Demonstrate knowledge and efficiency in fire protection hydraulic calculation software.
