Software Development Engineer, Benefits Experience and Technology Specialist

Benefits Experience and Technology (BXT) is a team at Amazon that builds a workplace for employees to invent and deliver on behalf of customers by supporting their financial, education, health, and wellness needs with benefits that optimize value and are easy to discover, enroll, and access.
As a member of the Financial and Workplace Benefits tech team, you will work to build tools to improve the benefits administration process, making the benefits experience more seamless for Amazonians.
As a Software Development Engineer II, you will take ownership of the software design, documentation, development, engineering approach, delivery, and support of new Benefits platforms built natively in AWS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software solutions for the Benefits platform
- Collaborate with engineers, product stakeholders, and managers to deliver high-quality software
- Participate in the design, technology selection, and build of the platform
- Ensure the software meets the required technical development knowledge, including distributed real-time systems, big data, and orchestration software
Requirements:
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon is a total compensation company. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
