Job Summary

The Operating Room Technician plays a critical role in the surgical team, responsible for maintaining asepsis, tracking implants, and handling equipment. This individual will also identify opportunities to reduce waste and expense, and demonstrate flexibility with assignments to benefit the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain asepsis in the surgical suite and observe team members for breaks in technique.
  • Track implants and handle equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and expense.
  • Efficiently use time in setting up and turning over the room.
  • Scrub all cases in all services efficiently.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with assignments to benefit the team.
  • Teach and communicate effectively with the team.
  • Restock supplies in the department as needed.
Requirements
  • High School or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • National certification or certification eligible.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
