About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Workers' Compensation Attorney to join our team in the Southeast region. As a key member of our insurance defense firm, you will be responsible for handling all aspects of workers' compensation cases from initial client meetings to resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Handling all aspects of workers' compensation cases, including drafting pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
  • Litigating cases before a workers' compensation judge or board of referees.
  • Representing the interests of the employer or insurance carrier at hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings.
  • Communicating regularly with clients, medical providers, the workers' compensation administration, opposing counsel, and the judiciary.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis of law sources, including statutes, legal articles, legal decisions, opinions, rulings, memoranda, and other legal material for case evaluation.
  • Developing strategies and negotiating settlements on behalf of clients.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of South Carolina.
  • 2+ years of experience in workers' compensation law and insurance defense.
  • Proven track record in handling all aspects of workers' compensation cases.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Ability to handle large caseloads and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality legal representation to our clients.

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, as well as a generous bonus structure, PTO, health insurance, 401k, STD/LTD, paid parental leave, and a mentorship program.
