Position Overview: Surgical Technologist III
As a key member of the surgical team, the Surgical Technologist III plays a vital role in supporting surgical and endoscopic operations. This position involves a variety of responsibilities that ensure the smooth functioning of the surgical environment.
- Assistance in Procedures: Provide support during surgical and endoscopic interventions under the guidance of senior medical staff.
- Management of Surgical Supplies: Responsible for the preparation, organization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure the surgical suite is clean, restocked, and properly processed to meet health and safety standards.
- Intervention Reporting: Identify and communicate any situations that require immediate attention to the appropriate personnel.
- Mentorship Role: Act as a clinical mentor for new surgical scrub technicians and students in the operating room.
- Resource Expertise: Serve as a knowledgeable resource in specialized surgical areas.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from recognized bodies such as NBSTSA, AST, or NCCT.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or 4 years with an Associate's Degree.
- Successful completion of a Hospital-Based Surgical Tech Program with a total of 10 years of practical experience.
