At Catalyst Kids, our dedicated teaching staff play a crucial role in the development and execution of our educational programs tailored for children from infancy through school age. Our educators are responsible for fostering a variety of age-appropriate activities, nurturing children's social-emotional growth, and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement developmentally suitable curricula that align with children's interests and promote their overall growth.
  • Establish and maintain enriching, intentional learning environments that cater to the diverse needs of all children.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by building genuine connections and culturally responsive relationships with children, families, and the community.
  • Ensure the health and safety of children through vigilant supervision, positive engagement, and adherence to health guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to integrate workplace values and experiences, delivering high-quality educational programs.
Work Environment:

All teaching staff are expected to embody behaviors that contribute to a successful educational atmosphere, including:
  • Engaging positively with children and youth.
  • Maintaining a respectful and safe emotional and physical environment.
  • Being punctual and consistently present for scheduled shifts.
  • Actively participating in both indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Being physically and mentally equipped to interact with children up to 13 years of age, addressing their needs and ensuring their safety.
  • Implementing safety protocols and reporting any health and safety concerns to management, remaining composed during emergencies.
Physical & Environmental Conditions:

Teaching staff are responsible for various program elements daily and may encounter both indoor and outdoor conditions. Responsibilities may include:
  • Conducting safety inspections of the environment to identify and mitigate hazards for children.
  • Being comfortable with occasional loud noises during activities.
  • Engaging in frequent physical activities such as bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Handling various objects weighing up to 15 lbs, including educational materials and equipment.
  • Working in diverse weather conditions that are safe for children.
  • Adapting to the physical levels of children during activities and interactions.
  • Supervising field trips to various recreational destinations.
Qualifications & Experience:

As an integral part of the teaching team, Associate Teachers share the responsibility for the care and education of a designated group of children.

Education Requirements:

Educational qualifications may vary based on center needs and age group requirements.

Associate Teacher qualifications include:
  • 12-24 postsecondary semester or equivalent quarter units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field with satisfactory grades.
  • Possession of an Associate Teacher Permit or higher issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience & Skills:
  • Preferred 6-12 months of experience in a group care setting with a consistent age group.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and classroom management skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management abilities, including curriculum planning and assessment documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues while maintaining a professional environment.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification for adults and children is preferred.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are advantageous based on center needs.
Shift Type: Full Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm

Compensation: $26.54 hourly
