Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities
  • Assist and support Professional Registered Nurses in all aspects of direct and indirect patient care activities.
  • Function as a member of the unit staff under the direction and supervision of the professional Registered Nurse.
  • Prepare patients for meals, assist or feed patients as necessary, and provide morning care, bed baths, and evening care according to established Nursing Care Procedures.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, height, and blood pressure.
  • Collect and analyze patient specimens, including urine, stool, blood, and sputum.
  • Respond to patient call lights in a timely manner and provide comfort and safety measures, such as side rails and call lights.
  • Assist with pre- and post-operative care, position patients as ordered, and apply special equipment for safety.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to the efficient operations of the assigned patient care unit.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • CNA Certification or currently enrolled in a school of nursing with successful completion of basic clinical rotations.
  • CPR - Basic Life Support recognition by the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of 90% correct on annual mandatory Health and Safety Training quizzes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or one year of college or nursing education or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting with a demonstrated ability to relate to patients, family, nursing, and medical staff.
