We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Bexar County, TX. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for performing routine repairs and maintenance of building equipment, machinery, and facility grounds.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair building equipment and machinery
- Perform basic plumbing tasks, including fixture repairs and replacements
- Assist with construction, remodeling, and renovation work
- Perform basic carpentry, concrete, and masonry repairs
- Repair commercial laundry and kitchen fixtures and appliances
- Perform replacement and repair of ceiling tiles, floor tiles, and other building materials
- Record and document readings from machinery and equipment
- Perform building inspections and maintain proper documentation
- Observe and report security problems to authorities
- Assist with locksmith functions, including troubleshooting and maintenance of detention facility locking systems
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in commercial building equipment repairs and maintenance
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical fundamentals
- Ability to operate related tools and equipment
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Ability to calculate time and material estimates
- Ability to perform basic measurement and mathematical calculations
- Ability to exercise independent judgment when necessary
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
This position involves working in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor settings. You will be required to move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally move objects weighing up to 100 pounds. You will also be required to work rotating shifts and be available to work more than 40 hours during the workweek.
