Respiratory Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Educator to join our team at Novant Health. As a key member of our Respiratory Care department, you will be responsible for driving clinical respiratory practice and developing educational programs to support the growth and development of our respiratory care team.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational needs of respiratory personnel, providing ongoing continuing education programs to meet these needs.
- Perform moderate or waived point of care testing per CLIA guidelines.
- Design, implement, and participate in the orientation process for new employees and students.
- Manage individual staff competencies and identify learning needs of the department.
- Implement, evaluate, and monitor new techniques, products, and procedures.
- Maintain a current and extensive clinical knowledge base to facilitate respiratory care practice.
- Maintain the Respiratory Care department web page.
- Assist with the development and revision of departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain a regular, interactive presence in patient care areas.
- Educate other members of the healthcare team, designing and participating in appropriate continuing education.
- Able to adopt a flexible schedule to accommodate clinical and educational needs.
- Demonstrate standards of performance that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence.
- Education: BS preferred, completion of an approved two-year AMA-accredited Respiratory Care Educational program, or three years of practice in a regional referral center may be substituted for BS degree.
- Licensure/Certifications: Must be licensed by the NC Respiratory Care Board and registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care. NPS required. NRP required. Adult educator: ACLS, BLS. Neo/Peds educator: NPS, PALS, NRP, BLS.
- Experience: Previous supervisory or educator experience preferred. Maintains AARC membership. Adult Educator: 3 years experience in a regional referral center. Neo/Peds Educator: 3 years experience working in Neonatal Pediatric Respiratory Care.
