We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Educator to join our team at Novant Health. As a key member of our Respiratory Care department, you will be responsible for driving clinical respiratory practice and developing educational programs to support the growth and development of our respiratory care team.
Key Responsibilities- Education and Training: Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational needs of respiratory personnel, and provide ongoing continuing education programs to meet these needs.
- Point of Care Testing: Perform moderate or waived point of care testing as per CLIA guidelines.
- Orientation and Competency Management: Design, implement, and participate in the orientation process for new employees and students, and manage individual staff competencies and identify learning needs of the department.
- Clinical Knowledge and Practice: Maintain a current and extensive clinical knowledge base to facilitate respiratory care practice, and implement, evaluate, and monitor new techniques, products, and procedures.
- Departmental Support: Maintain the Respiratory Care department web page, assist with the development and revision of departmental policies and procedures, and maintain a regular, interactive presence in patient care areas.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Educate other members of the healthcare team, including physicians and RNs, and design and participate in appropriate continuing education.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Adopt a flexible schedule to accommodate clinical and educational needs, and demonstrate standards of performance that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or related field preferred, or completion of an approved two-year AMA-accredited Respiratory Care educational program.
- Licensure and Certifications: Must be licensed by the NC Respiratory Care Board and registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care, with NPS and NRP certifications required.
- Experience: Previous supervisory or educator experience preferred, with a minimum of three years of experience in a regional referral center.
