Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Barge Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance of terminal buildings, equipment, and grounds, adhering to company safety policies and performing work in a safe manner.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and Maintenance: Repair cement pumps, deck fittings, and cables, as well as blowers and dust collectors.
- Unload Barges: Assist with spotting at the dock, hooking up hoses and electrical cables, starting unloading equipment, and monitoring the unloading process.
- Cleanliness and Safety: Clean all areas of the barges, terminal, and grounds, and ensure a safe working environment.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Industrial Mechanical Skills: Solid industrial mechanical skills are required, as the successful candidate will be performing routine maintenance.
- Language: Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Physical Condition: In good physical condition, able to bend, use a broom and shovel, lift and carry up to 100 lbs, sit and stand for extended periods, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on mixed terrain and in confined spaces.
- Height and Equipment Operation: Ability to work at heights up to 150 feet and operate forklifts and tractors for cutting grass.
