Position Overview:
As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and organized handling of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods using powered industrial trucks. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of perishable items and managing inventory within the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive materials from vendors and warehouses, verifying lot numbers and quantities before placing them into stock.
  • Complete necessary documentation to confirm accurate quantities or weights for each load.
  • Transport pallets of ingredients and materials to production lines and storage areas.
  • Load outgoing orders from the receiving dock.
  • Consolidate materials, ingredients, or products into specified order lots as required.
  • Operate various equipment including forklifts, high lifts, order pickers, and pallet jacks.
  • Conduct safety checks on equipment prior to use, ensuring all safety devices are functional.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse, ensuring a neat and orderly work environment.
  • Rotate and clean spice racks and ingredient coolers as necessary.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Ensure the proper receipt of raw materials and packaging according to company protocols.
  • Replenish production areas with necessary supplies of packaging and raw materials.
  • Unload incoming materials, inspecting containers for any damage.
  • Inspect, operate, and maintain power lifting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Return production materials to designated warehouse locations after use.
  • Prepare finished product pallets for shipping, ensuring they are securely wrapped.
  • Adhere to company standards for cleanliness, food safety, and productivity within the production area.
  • Rotate raw and packaging materials upon receipt and when returning to storage.
  • Ensure all raw material containers are properly labeled for identification.
  • Identify products for shipment, verifying labels and codes before loading onto trucks.
  • Document inventory details corresponding to received and shipped products.
  • Comply with quality, food safety, and OSHA standards, ensuring adherence to all company and government regulations.
  • Transport waste materials to designated collection areas.
  • Load empty drums as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience operating forklifts in an industrial manufacturing setting is preferred, with food manufacturing experience being an advantage.

Working Conditions:
The production environment is typically loud, and associates are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Exposure to dust, chemicals, and allergens may occur. Physical demands include sitting, standing, bending, and lifting items over 50 lbs.
