About the Role

The Lead AI Engineer will be a key technical member responsible for designing and implementing the platform and architecture that underpins our AI and ML modeling capabilities and integration with applications and data pipelines.

This person will build and scale multiple models to retail platforms.

The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and implement the AI technical roadmap, using appropriate tools and frameworks.
  • Implement AI experimentation and observation platform for continuously improvement of AI models and experiences.
  • Work with a high-performing AI team, providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers to build and maintain robust data pipelines.
  • Lead the design for robust AI infrastructure/AIOps, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of innovative AI solutions across various business domains.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize AI opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI research and translate them into practical applications for the company.
  • Advocate for the ethical and responsible use of AI throughout the organization.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both technical and non-technical.
Requirements
  • Experience in working on large-scale AI systems.
  • PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fields.
  • 6+ years of experience in AI/Data Science and Machine Learning.
  • 10+ years' experience implementing Analytics solutions.
  • Strong academic credentials with publications in top-tier journals and conferences.
  • Background in one or more of the following areas: deep learning, information retrieval, knowledge graph, natural language processing, optimization.
  • Experience in building large-scale AI models and systems.
  • Experience in large language models and deep neural network solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with peers in engineering across teams to set technical directions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, great communication skills.
  • Strong ability to mentor, coach, and train other engineers.
