Job Summary

As a Perioperative Assistant at Virtua Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include prioritizing OR suite cleaning, assisting with patient transport, and maintaining a clean and organized perioperative area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize OR suite cleaning for room turnover and clean common areas within the perioperative area using prescribed procedures.
  • Assist with transferring, transporting, and positioning of patients while using correct body mechanics.
  • Assist in OR set-up for each case, having essential equipment moved into the room. Following case, clean and put away equipment not needed. Transport and handle essential equipment per policies and procedures.
  • Handle and transport specimens according to policies and procedures.
  • Stock shelves in compliance with par levels, stock linen and fluids. Responsible for assisting Products Coordinator in putting away all warehouse supplies on a daily basis.

Requirements
  • Previous patient care experience/skills preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • BLS Certification.
