At ManTech International Corporation, we're seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Hardware Engineer to join our team in Ft. Meade, Maryland. This position is part of a team that provides engineering and IT services to provision, manage, sustain, innovate, modernize, refresh, reengineer, and secure the Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) and Non-NC2 cryptographic production infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop functional requirements and specifications for hardware acquisitions.
  • Analyze hardware specifications and system/subsystem requirements to design practical hardware components, including servers, network devices, transmission media, storage devices, user interface devices, and special processors.
  • Ensure problems with operational hardware are properly identified and solutions satisfy user requirements.
  • Assist with preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Conduct site surveys, assess current site network configuration, and document site-unique requirements.
  • Develop hardware installation schedules based on setup, integration, and test timeliness.
  • Train site personnel in proper hardware use.
  • Recommend specifications for hardware acquisitions.
  • Prepare engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages.
  • Document as-built configurations.
  • Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Prepare installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, mathematics, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven years of experience as a hardware engineer analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions.
  • Experience with scheduling vendor evaluations, receiving and setting up commercial equipment, reviewing equipment documentation, selecting evaluation SOPs, setting up tools and sensors, operating equipment, collecting technical data, generating technical reports, and updating policies related to secure destruction.
  • Current and active TS/SCI with polygraph based on a SSBI.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Frequently communicates with coworkers, management, and customers.
  • Ability to move vendor equipment.
  • Repetitive motions.
