Job Overview

Summary: Accountable for managing and executing customer transactions with precision. Ensures prompt, courteous, and efficient service to uphold the mission of Plains State Bank, satisfying the needs of employees, shareholders, and clients. Responsible for meeting operational job standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes clients and fosters a high-quality service atmosphere by exhibiting a friendly demeanor and utilizing the customer's name during interactions.
  • Processes client transactions accurately within established policy frameworks (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, issuing negotiable instruments, etc.).
  • Clarifies transaction policies and procedures to clients, seeking supervisor assistance when necessary.
  • Secures supervisory consent for transactions exceeding authorized limits.
  • Directs substantial withdrawals and account closures to sales personnel for retention initiatives.
  • Proactively seeks and maintains fundamental knowledge of all banking products through training sessions, branch meetings, and corporate communications.
  • Identifies opportunities to promote Plains State Bank and refers potential sales leads to the appropriate sales team.
  • Encourages clients to utilize alternative banking methods such as ATMs, Debit Cards, Telephone Banking, and Online Banking.
  • Safeguards assigned cash and performs cash drawer reconciliations as outlined in the Teller Manual.
  • Immediately informs management of any suspicious or questionable transactions.
  • Accurately completes all necessary bank and government documentation (CTR, SAR, etc.) to mitigate the bank's risk exposure.
  • Maintains dual control and adheres to all security protocols and procedures consistently.
  • Conducts daily operational balancing procedures, including balancing individual teller drawers (i.e., ATM, Vault, TT&L).
  • Upholds a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the Bank's Employee Handbook.
  • If applicable, manages the entry of safe deposit box holders and accurately maintains entry records.
  • Assists clients with account inquiries as needed.
  • Engages positively with other departments and branches of Plains State Bank to foster a collaborative environment focused on external and internal customer service.
  • Sets personal objectives and standards that yield positive outcomes for Plains State Bank.
