Universal Banker/Teller

• We seek a skilled Universal Banker/Teller to join our team, responsible for creating a quality service experience by promptly addressing customer needs and ensuring overall satisfaction.
• This role involves adhering to company service standards, including greeting customers warmly and making them feel welcome at First Mid Bank & Trust.
• The successful candidate will proficiently service customers by accurately and efficiently processing transactions within policy guidelines, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, and more.
• Additionally, this role requires gaining manager assistance with suspicious transactions and obtaining approval for transactions outside authorized limits.
• The ideal candidate will adhere to all bank compliance, security, and operational policies and procedures.
• Responsibilities also include maintaining a cash drawer through daily balancing procedures and assisting with daily operational branch duties.
• This role involves opening accounts, including checking, savings, safe deposit boxes, and basic business-related services.
• The successful candidate will perform changes to existing accounts as requested by customers.
• They will also proactively identify ways to improve processes that enhance the customer experience and communicate these ideas to branch management.
• Other responsibilities may include allowing entry of safe deposit box holders, maintaining a professional appearance and conduct, and upholding customer confidentiality.
• This role may also involve participating in bank promotions, external community events, and promotional activities.
• Occasionally, the Universal Banker/Teller may be required to work in other First Mid Banking centers.

SALES:

• We are seeking a skilled sales professional to develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners and customers.
• The ideal candidate will educate and encourage customers to utilize alternate delivery systems, such as ATMs, debit cards, online banking, and mobile banking.
• They will maintain knowledge of all banking products through training courses, branch meetings, and corporate communications.
• This role involves identifying growth opportunities to cross-sell products and making referrals to appropriate business lines.
• The successful candidate will consistently meet or exceed established goals for the position.

Qualifications

Education:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

• At least one year of customer service and cash handling experience, preferably in a financial institution.
• Previous sales experience is also preferred.
• The ideal candidate will successfully complete required compliance and First Mid training curriculum to be proficient in the basic account opening process.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer applications is essential.
