Job Title: Senior Database Administrator

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our mainframe Db2 for z/OS Database Application Support team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Senior DBA professional with experience working directly with application development teams and strong support skills troubleshooting Db2 for z/OS issues including performance.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and develop data storage systems, processes, and enhancements for company's complex high-traffic, business-critical internet site communications and/or network-based (cloud) product systems.
* Lead the design of enterprise storage environments, including enterprise storage arrays, fiber channel switches, and Network Attached Storage (NAS) physical and virtual tape devices.
* Develop solutions and processes for reliable and stable data storage management, security, backup, restoration, archiving, and replication.
* Assist with the implementation of new or additional storage technology to improve infrastructure service locally and remotely.
* Lead small, moderately complex projects or work on complex tasks that require a high degree of judgment, resourcefulness, and self-initiative.
* Demonstrate specialized expertise to evaluate wide-ranging and complex issues and develop creative solutions.
* Recommend new procedures.

Requirements:

* 7+ years of overall IT experience on IBM mainframe, with 3+ years on Db2 for z/OS.
* Deep knowledge of Db2 for z/OS database components and concepts.
* Proficient in Db2 for z/OS DDL, DML, DCL.
* Mastery of IBM DB2 utilities: Unload, Load, REORG, Image Copy, RUNSTATS.
* Ability to analyze, diagnose, and resolve database issues and assist applications teams with database-related application issues.
* Experience in evaluating, designing, and deploying high-performance logical and physical database designs to support our application partners.
* Experience managing and migrating database change requests from client teams and to meet project deadlines or resolve support issues.
* Ability to analyze, test, and recommend new database features, functionality, and products that can yield improvements for the database environment.
* Ability to perform database recoveries and support Disaster Recovery.
* Excellent communication skills, written and interpersonal using all communications technology platforms available.
* Experience with IBM Db2 Version 12+.
* Experience with IBM Db2 Administration Tool.
* Experience with a database performance monitoring tool like Query Monitor, DB2 Explain, SQL Performance Analyzer, and access path evaluation.
* SQL query development, performance analysis, and remediation skills.
* Experience with mainframe data integration with cloud and other open environments.
* REXX, ISPF, CLIST, or other database automation development skills/experience.
* Experience with Data Studio, DSM, Native SQL Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions.
* Experience with IBM Infosphere Data Replication (IIDR/CDC).
