Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Giddings Residence and Rehabilitation Center. As a Resident Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with federal and state regulations, facility policies, and good nursing judgment.
  • Perform resident care duties, including transporting and transferring, restocking resident rooms, changing linens, positioning residents, bathing, assisting with bowel and bladder needs, dressing, eating, and hydration, taking vital signs, and providing care as needed or directed.
  • Document tasks performed in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
  • Follow appropriate infection control practices.
  • Report any observations and pertinent information regarding resident care and condition to the nursing supervisor promptly.
  • Document observations and care delivered to residents daily, per standards of practice and facility policy and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current, unencumbered, active certification to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State.
  • 2 years' experience in Long-Term Care experience preferred.
  • Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Internet) required.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Demonstrate leadership, organizational skills, and ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This position requires physical activity and may require walking to various locations within the facility. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position at times requires the ability to walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, twist, and lift as necessary.
