Position Overview

The Financial Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial functions of the organization. This position is responsible for the comprehensive management of financial activities, including financial forecasting, budgeting, and accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Operations Manager will:

  • Develop and enhance financial policies and procedures to align with organizational goals.
  • Maintain compliance with legal and regulatory standards in all financial operations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external accounting firms and financial service providers.
  • Generate accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
  • Provide insightful financial analyses and forecasts to support management decision-making.
  • Oversee the integrity of the organization’s accounting records and ensure robust internal controls.
  • Supervise the month-end closing processes and reconciliations.
  • Manage the annual budget preparation and employee expense reporting.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals to facilitate audits and tax compliance.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial management within a nonprofit organization.
  • Strong expertise in general ledger management, banking operations, job cost accounting, and nonprofit tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A thorough understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAP).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
