About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geotechnical Engineering Team Lead to join our team at Professional Engineering Consultants. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a department, including staff training, development, and performance review, as well as ensuring the timely delivery of services and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Oversight: Supervise or monitor all projects in progress in the department to ensure that work is executed on time and in accordance with the client's requirements and within company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Business Development: Plan for and participate in business development activities to identify, develop, win, and execute project opportunities and build and maintain client relationships.
  • Staff Management: Supervise the daily operations of a department, including staff training, development, and performance review, utilization of equipment and facilities, safety oversight, quality of services and work product, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Proposal Preparation: Responsible for the preparation of proposals and cost estimates to clients to ensure proper scoping of services, availability of manpower, and pricing to achieve desired profitability.
  • Client Relationships: With support from the Division Manager, develop and maintain client relationships and participate in business development activities to identify, develop, win, and execute project opportunities.
  • Department Metrics: Oversee and manage the success of key department metrics, including revenue growth, staff charge-ability, project billing and collections, and project profitability.
  • Safety and Quality: Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure that team members follow safety rules and guidelines. Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects and engage the Division Manager on projects at their onset.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline practiced by the Firm, including Engineering or Geology, and 5 years' practice experience.
  • Certifications: Certification or licensure in the field of expertise.
  • Other: Valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history.
