Head Chef - Full Time Opportunity with a Balanced Work Schedule.

Mercado Montclair is in search of a Head Chef to manage kitchen operations and lead dinner service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily kitchen functions;
  • Guide and mentor kitchen and prep staff;
  • Uphold and implement food quality standards;
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and served promptly;
  • Design menus and create appealing presentations for each dish;
  • Coordinate kitchen team and provide assistance as needed;
  • Recruit and train staff to prepare and cook menu items;
  • Conduct inventory of ingredients and equipment; place orders as necessary;
  • Implement best practices for kitchen safety and sanitation.
Qualifications:
  • Culinary school qualification (preferred);
  • 5+ years of relevant experience;
  • Comprehensive understanding of food principles and best practices;
  • Enthusiasm for crafting exceptional dishes that captivate customers;
  • Strong communication and leadership skills;
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is an advantage.
