General Summary: The Bartender plays a crucial role in crafting, garnishing, and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with the standards set by Saddle & Cycle Club for our esteemed Members and Guests. This position entails providing exceptional bar and table service, taking orders for food and drinks, delivering them efficiently, and ensuring a delightful dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
● Welcome each guest warmly with eye contact, a smile, and a professional demeanor.
● Present food and beverage menus and address any inquiries.
● Serve iced water and recommend menu items.
● Communicate orders to the kitchen, including any special requests.
● Deliver food and drinks promptly while offering suggestions on daily specials and beverage pairings.
● Ensure food is served correctly and to the satisfaction of guests; return any incorrect orders to the kitchen.
● Clear tables after each course and reset them with the appropriate utensils.
● Prepare and serve drinks according to established specifications, maintaining a courteous and efficient service.
● Guarantee that all service details are executed flawlessly, ensuring every guest receives top-notch service.
● Process payments from members and guests for food and beverage services.
● Respond promptly to requests from guests, supervisors, or management in a friendly and efficient manner.
● Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area while providing attentive service.
● Report any guest complaints to management as they arise.
● Keep accurate records of liquor, beer, and wine inventory to ensure availability for service.
● Follow company policies and procedures regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
Required Skills:
● Strong customer service abilities with a welcoming approach.
● Professional appearance and high standards of presentation.
● Excellent communication skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
● Proficiency in operating point-of-sale systems, including processing and closing checks.
● Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions.
● Comprehensive knowledge of mixology, including food and beverage pairings and service techniques.
● Ability to perform effectively in emergency situations.
Qualifications:
● Must be at least 21 years of age.
● High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
● 1-2 years of experience in bartending or related food and beverage service roles.
Work Environment: This role is set in a dynamic indoor atmosphere that can be hot, humid, and occasionally noisy. Employees are required to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry trays of food weighing up to 50 pounds, and engage in various physical activities as necessary.
