Job Title: Library Page

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Library Page at The New York Public Library. As a Library Page, you will play a vital role in maintaining the organization and accessibility of our vast collection of materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patrons, responding to inquiries and assisting with locating materials.
  • Shelve and arrange books, CDs, DVDs, and other library materials in a neat and organized manner.
  • Assist patrons with basic computer, internet, and audio/visual equipment usage.
  • Locate and prepare library materials requested by patrons.
  • Assist staff with checking materials for damage and removing them from the shelves.
  • Help set up public spaces for events and programs.
Requirements:
  • Current enrollment in a degree program at an accredited school.
  • Proper employment certificate for minors under 18, as required by NYS law.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic computer and printer issues.
  • Experience with eReaders and library technologies.
  • Ability to speak foreign languages.
Physical Demands:
  • Moderate lifting required (up to 25 lbs).
  • Pushing book trucks.
Work Schedule:
  • 19 hours per week, including evenings and Saturdays.
