Job Title: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

A Safe Haven Foundation is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor to join our Adolescent - Intensive Outpatient Program.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled clinician who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our clients and contributing to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to evaluate clients' needs, strengths, and goals.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities and interventions to address behavioral health issues.
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions with adolescents to address mental health issues, such as mood disorders, anxiety, eating disorders, and substance abuse.
  • Lead group therapy sessions focused on specific issues relevant to the participants.
  • Coordinate care for adolescents, including developing treatment plans, monitoring progress, and adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Respond to immediate crises, such as severe emotional distress or self-harm, and provide support, stabilization, and necessary referrals to higher levels of care when needed.
  • Engage with families in therapy sessions to address family dynamics, communication, and other issues that may be impacting the adolescent's mental health.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and counselors, to provide coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all therapy sessions, assessments, treatment plans, and communications with other professionals.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois.
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience providing therapy and counseling services to individuals with behavioral health disorders, preferably in a community mental health or outpatient setting.
  • Experience in working with adolescent clients.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to formulate accurate clinical impressions and treatment plans based on client needs.
  • Proficiency in delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients, build therapeutic alliances, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to cultural competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds and identities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and resilience.
  • Knowledge of ethical and legal standards governing the practice of social work and counseling, including confidentiality, informed consent, and mandated reporting.
Work Schedule:

Monday thru Friday, 8 am - 4 pm.
