Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Technician to join our team at Zeeland Farm Services I. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of our products with governmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weigh and test incoming products to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Follow all procedures and policies to meet the requirements of CERT-ID EU non-GMO certification.
  • Take samples for each incoming load according to state and federal guidelines.
  • Grade each sample based on type of specialty bean for moisture content, weight, foreign matter, protein, and oil content.
  • Document all test results clearly and precisely on weight slips and internal company documents.
  • Communicate with customers and drivers on seed quality and provide other information as needed.
  • Assist with paperwork and provide directions to drivers for loading and unloading.
  • Ensure all sampling and testing equipment is in good working order and order parts and supplies as needed.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and safety requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workstation environment.
Requirements
  • High School or Equivalent education.
  • Preferred experience, but not required.
  • Ability to obtain grading certification.
  • Working knowledge of plant equipment and safety.
  • Proficiency in Windows Operating System, company accounting software, and dispatch software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret and verify scale tickets, bills of lading, etc.
Work Environment

This position requires frequent walking, standing, and sitting. Use of stairs and ladders may be required. Occasional lifting and/or moving of 50 pounds or more may be necessary. The employee will work in an office and production environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme heat or cold, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
