Job Summary:

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position located in the Intensive Care Unit at the Providence campus. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing high-quality, specialized nursing care to critically ill patients with multisystem comorbidities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, specialized nursing care to critically ill patients.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessment and care.
  • Assist with bedside procedures, such as bronchoscopy and upper and lower GI procedures.
  • Utilize all aspects of the nursing practice and evidence-based practice to develop individual plans of care for patients.
  • Modify patient's plan of care based on their physical, cognitive, psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural needs.
  • Promote effective communication while functioning within a collaborative and interdisciplinary team setting.
  • Incorporate the Veteran and family member/caretaker(s) in patient education that meets their individual educational needs and learning style.
  • Functions as a patient advocate and performs cares and duties with the utmost integrity adhering to policies and procedures and following all protocols, guidelines, and standards of practice (SOP).

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, night shift position.
  • May be subject to satisfactory completion of our credentialing process.
