Key Responsibilities- Assist with the maintenance and operation of the community's one-water infrastructure, including the delivery of safe drinking water, ecological management of stormwater ponds and streams, and sanitary collection and delivery of household and industrial drain water.
- Perform a variety of activities to sustain the infrastructure and ensure future generations have the same or better quality of life as current residents of Eden Prairie.
- Inspect, test, operate, and repair fire hydrants, gate valves, water storage equipment, and all associated appliances.
- Inspect, evaluate, and assist with the repair of stormwater run-off systems throughout the community.
- Read maps, navigate to specific manhole locations, and communicate with the hydro-vacuum cleaning crew to ensure the high-pressure cleaning system reaches the full length of the sanitary main-line being serviced.
- Assist the structure repair crew by using various tools to help remove and repair manhole components and rainwater collection structures.
- Perform infrequent grounds maintenance activities such as restoration of lawn areas damaged by utility repairs, landscaping, and lawn mowing/trimming.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong aptitude for learning and performing a variety of activities, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. You will also need to be able to read maps, navigate to specific locations, and use various tools and equipment.
