Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Technician Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our veterinary care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery, providing critical support to our medical team.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during surgery, ensuring the highest level of patient safety.
  • Obtain blood, stool, and other samples; perform in-hospital laboratory testing and prepare specimens for outside laboratories, providing accurate and timely results.
  • Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following proper safety procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging.
  • Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for patients.
  • Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments at the discretion of the veterinarian, ensuring the highest level of patient care.
  • Clean and straighten exam rooms, treatment, and lab areas; restock exam rooms with supplies, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Demonstrate warmth, courtesy, and professionalism in all interactions with clients; exercise compassion and care in all interactions with patients, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate with veterinarians and practice team members, including client discussions, patient plans, client concerns, etc., ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician (preferred).
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques, including proper PPE, ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications, etc.
  • Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages, ensuring accurate and timely administration.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety, client satisfaction, and team collaboration.
