Job Summary

TechServ Engineering & Consulting is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will collaborate with project teams to create high-quality designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects including electrical distribution, transmission, and substation design.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop designs for electrical systems, including distribution, transmission, and substation design.
  2. Collaborate with engineers to implement design changes and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  3. Perform field technician duties as needed, including site evaluations and analytical designs.
  4. Prepare reports, specifications, and proposal documentation for electrical plans and designs.
  5. Work with project managers and engineers to plan and coordinate project tasks and assignments.
  6. Analyze complex engineering tasks, specifications, and inspections to ensure quality and accuracy.
  7. Develop and maintain project files, client deliverables, and project communications.
  8. Assist with the setup of projects in project management systems and develop proposals, work plans, budgets, and project scheduling.

Requirements:
  • Must currently be eligible to work in the United States of America.
  • High school graduate or GED required; college degree or some college course preferred.
  • Entry-level position; 0-2 years of utility design experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, including project managers, engineers, and designers.
  • Proficient in design software, including AutoCAD, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
