Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Practical Nurse to join our team at the Justice, Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System. As a Correctional Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to inmates in a correctional setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide standard patient care under the guidance of a Supervisory Clinical Nurse
  • Assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and provide first aid as needed
  • Administer and document medications accurately according to policy and physician orders
  • Work rotating shifts and patient care units, prioritizing the safety and security of the institution
Requirements
  • Current licensure to practice as a practical or vocational nurse in a State or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia
  • At least one year of nursing experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in Federal service
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced correctional environment and maintain confidentiality and professionalism
