About the Unit:
This 18-bed unit specializes in Medical Oncology, focusing on patients with solid tumors undergoing surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and end-of-life care. The unit is involved in research and participates in clinical trials. Experience in oncology is preferred, but candidates with a strong interest in cancer care will be considered for training.
Position Description
Unit Charge Nurse, Medical Oncology
Location: Health eCareers Network
Schedule: 7pm-7:30am
Job Responsibilities
- Utilize acquired knowledge, theory, research, and experience to adapt to changes in clinical scenarios.
- Apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, personalizing care for each patient and family.
- Deliver safe, reliable, and effective care to a diverse patient population, independently utilizing the nursing process.
- Assess patient responses to planned care and modify care plans as necessary.
- Integrate the AACN Synergy Model into clinical practice.
- Collect, report, analyze, and provide data continuously as required by physicians and interdisciplinary teams, adhering to organizational standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least two years in the relevant specialty.
- Valid, active, unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the relevant licensing board.
- Certification in the specialty is preferred.
- BLS certification is required; ACLS may be required in specific departments.
- If promoted internally or hired externally, the candidate must complete specific criteria requirements within nine months of promotion or hire, including completion of communication training and enrollment in relevant courses.
