Position: General Maintenance Technician

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated General Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities through effective maintenance and repair of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Perform routine inspections and evaluations of systems and equipment to identify and document performance issues.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshoot various systems, including:
    • HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical installations.
    • Transformers, motors, and control panels.
    • Dock equipment and building lighting systems.
  • Execute repairs on mechanical and electrical systems, including pumps, valves, and electrical controls.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as ordering parts and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Document maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and analyze findings for continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure clarity on work requests and project statuses.
  • Oversee maintenance projects and guide subcontractors as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; additional training in business or trade school is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license and necessary operational certifications.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and manuals.
  • Proficient in MS Office and maintenance management software.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.

Competencies:

  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to disassemble and reassemble mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Capable of operating lifts and other maintenance equipment.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and capable of managing unexpected challenges.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations relevant to maintenance tasks.
  • Problem-solving skills to address various maintenance issues.

Physical Requirements:
