Speech-Language Pathologist

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to support the communication needs of our diverse student population. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication disorders in students.
The Speech-Language Pathologist will play a crucial role in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans and intervention strategies to address speech, language, and communication disorders. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education and speech-language services.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to evaluate students' communication abilities and identify areas of need.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and intervention strategies to address speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with diverse communication needs, including articulation, fluency, voice, and language disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication skills in the classroom and educational settings.
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust intervention plans as needed to promote growth and achievement.
- Provide consultation and training to school staff on strategies for supporting students with communication disorders.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, progress reports, and therapy sessions.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Alabama state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Alabama Educator Certification in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) issued by the Alabama State Department of Education.
- Previous experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school or educational setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of assessment tools, intervention strategies, and best practices in speech-language pathology.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education and speech-language services.
