Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Passenger Assistant to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. The successful candidate will work closely with a Local Authority in Nottingham to provide support to passengers with mobility difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Passenger Safety and Wellbeing: Safeguard and supervise passengers while traveling, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
  • Provide Transportation Support: Assist passengers with mobility difficulties to board and alight vehicles, providing necessary support and care.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Liaise with parents, carers, schools, and the Passenger Transport Team to address any issues that may arise during transportation, including factors affecting a passenger's health and wellbeing and reporting of incidents, vehicle breakdowns, timekeeping, and behavioral problems.
  • Training and Development: Undertake training as required under the Passenger Assistant Training Scheme, attend team meetings, and participate in appraisals to ensure continuous professional development.
  • Flexibility and Availability: Be available for alternative duties if the regular run is not required on any particular day.

Requirements:

  • Manual Handling Training: Possess manual handling training to ensure safe handling of passengers and equipment.
  • Independence and Autonomy: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, making decisions and taking actions as required.
  • Emergency First Aid: Hold an Emergency First Aid qualification to respond to emergencies and provide basic care.
  • Transportation Experience: Previous experience in the transportation of passengers, including those with mobility difficulties.

  • Availability: Be available to work immediately or at short notice.
  • Right to Work: Possess the right to work in the UK.
