About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Architectural Designer to join our team at SmithGroup, an award-winning integrated design firm. As an Architectural Designer, you will be responsible for creating and developing planning and design concepts, supporting senior planners and architects on large projects, and preparing and coordinating architectural drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop planning and design concepts
  • Support senior planners and architects on large projects
  • Prepare and coordinate architectural drawings and specifications
  • Relate building design concepts to building codes, zoning ordinances, and other external issues
  • Consult with manufacturers, research and propose materials and products
  • Mentor and train junior staff
  • Assist in construction administration, including responding to RFIs, preparing sketches and addendums, and visiting construction sites to gather information and/or prepare punch lists

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of professional experience
  • LEED AP preferred
  • Eligible to take the Architectural Registration Examination within a few years
  • Working knowledge of engineering systems and ability to successfully engage with professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • On-the-job experience using Revit to produce construction documents
  • High proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

SmithGroup offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $77,000 to $94,000 annually, a performance-based bonus, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
