Job Summary

As a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist at AdventHealth, you will utilize your expertise in patient/family assessment to identify barriers to healthcare goals. You will work with individuals with developmental disorders, mental, emotional, social, or substance abuse problems, and educate the healthcare team about psycho-social issues. Your collaboration with primary care providers and local community agencies will improve health outcomes. You will also provide crisis intervention and maintain accurate records of activities and services provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients for barriers to healthcare goals
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for individuals with developmental disorders, mental, emotional, social, or substance abuse problems
  • Educate the healthcare team about psycho-social issues
  • Collaborate with primary care providers and local community agencies to improve health outcomes
  • Provide crisis intervention and support
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of activities and services provided
Requirements
  • Doctoral Degree in Psychology or Counseling (PsyD/PhD)
  • Experience working with pediatric and adolescent patients
  • Experience working in a consultation liaison setting
  • Experience working in inpatient acute care setting
  • Current, valid Psychology license in Florida
  • Current BLS certification
  • Eligible for board certification (board certification is a requirement for AdventHealth within 5 years of hire)
