Job Summary

As a Cath Lab Technologist II at Chi, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care in our state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. We are seeking a skilled and experienced technologist to join our team, who can demonstrate expertise in operating various types of physiological monitoring equipment, scrubbing at tableside, and operating radiographic equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Exhibits and shares knowledge of policies and procedures, acting as a mentor and preceptor to new technologists.
• Demonstrates knowledge and competency in diagnostic procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, peripheral, neuro, and EP procedures.
• Accurately enters and records pertinent patient data, documents events, and calculates valve areas.
• Troubleshoots problems and unusual events, reporting them to the supervisor.
• Scrubs at tableside, assisting physicians with procedures.
• Takes scrub call independently and assists physicians in acute MI and stroke procedures on unstable patients.
• Demonstrates knowledge of various stents, their accurate preparation, and deployment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of thrombectomy procedures, including preparation and deployment.
• Demonstrates knowledge and competency in inserting intravascular ultrasound systems.
• Maintains a sterile field while assisting physicians in performing procedures.
• Operates physiological monitoring systems for diagnostic, EP, neuro, and interventional studies.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory.
• CVT or RT certification, or the combination of ACLS plus demonstrated proficiency in scrubbing CCL procedures.
• Ability to take call and return to the hospital within 30 minutes.
