Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers during patient consultations, which entails preparing examination rooms, gathering patient histories, measuring vital signs such as pulse, blood pressure, height, and weight, and accurately documenting information in the electronic medical record system.
- Thoroughly prepare and assess patient charts a minimum of 72 hours before appointments, ensuring all necessary information is complete and identifying any gaps, utilizing both internal and external resources as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination areas, including routine cleaning and restocking of medical supplies.
- Handle administrative responsibilities, including completing forms, managing prescription refills, processing referrals, and providing educational materials to patients.
- Ensure all relevant information is scanned and entered into the electronic health record system.
- Exhibit proper hand hygiene techniques to maintain infection control standards and adhere to universal precautions.
- Deliver patient care in a manner that prioritizes safety and minimizes the risk of medical errors.
- Utilize Red Bag Waste appropriately.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- Prior experience in a Medical Assistant role is advantageous.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Qualifications:
- Effective communication skills with physicians, patients, colleagues, vendors, and the public are essential.
- Possess critical thinking abilities, adaptability, and a positive demeanor.
- Willingness to travel to various locations as necessary.
