Job Summary:

KBJW is seeking a skilled Survey Technician to join our team in Chesapeake, Virginia. As a Survey Technician, you will be responsible for producing survey computations, work maps, and plats. Your primary function will be to create mapping from field crew data, meet project schedules, and perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post survey field data processing
  • Create mapping from field crew data to meet client/job specific requirements
  • Preparation and set-up of survey data for field crews
  • Deed and reference map plotting
  • Calculations for construction layout, as-built surveys, and/or sketches
  • Grade sheet preparation
  • ALTA/NSPS land title survey, subdivision plats, lot consolidations
  • Preparation of Metes & Bounds descriptions
  • Drafting of FEMA Elevation certificate

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in AutoCAD and Carlson Software
  • Field experience preferred
  • General knowledge of surveying equipment, practices, and principles
  • Knowledge of mathematics through algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
  • Great attitude and a desire to grow professionally
