Job Summary

Chipton-Ross is seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Technician to join our team in Orlando, FL. As an Electrical Systems Technician, you will be responsible for fabricating test equipment used in the development and manufacture of tactical hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate test equipment, including test sets, test boxes, cables, and other assemblies or subassemblies.
  • Read, interpret, and occasionally correct engineering drawings/schematics.
  • Place and solder components on circuit cards and subassemblies.
  • Fabricate wiring harnesses, including connector pinning and depinning, and applying mounting hardware.
  • Build up lower-level assemblies into single or multi-bay cabinet assemblies for delivery to Engineering or Manufacturing Production areas.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in electrical fabrication (cable and harness, SMT board, test equipment, etc.).
  • Ability to properly safety wire assemblies and connectors.
  • Ability to solder and repair cables and harnesses.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in repairs of electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Knowledge of basic avionics and electronics.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and fault isolation of components using general purpose and/or automated test equipment.
  • Knowledge of automated and/or general-purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers and waveform generators).
  • Knowledge of the interpretation of engineering drawings, schematics, and test and repair procedures.
  • Ability to fabricate electrical test equipment designs from a blueprint of the layout, schematic, bill of material, and engineering practices manual as guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate issues with the design and/or the process requirements to management and/or design engineers.
  • Familiarity with industrial standards, military specifications, and industry processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic and frequently changing customer requirements.
  • Ability to understand policies and procedures for the control of Government property.
  • Ability to work with hazardous materials.

Desired Requirements:

  • Knowledge of solder certification to J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721.
  • Knowledge of fault isolation for electro-mechanical components.
  • Knowledge of concepts for hardware repair.
  • Experience with CCA component rework and repair.
  • Rework experience with BGAs and electrical maintenance and rework.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is 100% onsite.
  • This position will operate under moderate supervision.

Education:

  • Accredited HSD/GED.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-Time.
  • 4/10 work schedule.
  • 1st Shift.
