Job Summary

Covenant Health is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cardiac Sonography Specialist to join our team in the Cardiac Diagnostics Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for utilizing state-of-the-art technology to assist cardiologists in diagnosing congenital, structural, and disease-process cardiac issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize cross-sectional human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology to obtain optimal studies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic medical terminology and perform procedures under the direct supervision of a registered Cardiac Sonographer.
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment, supplies, and imaging areas, and perform ultrasound testing on patients by utilizing 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional, M-mode, spectral Doppler, color flow Doppler, speckle tracking, and other post-processing functionality.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with patients, physicians, and other members of the support team, and provide patients and families with procedure explanations and/or written documentation of procedure.
  • Participate in continuing education for optimal patient care, public education, and enhanced knowledge and technical competence.
  • Perform correct drug, procedure, and supply charging, stock maintenance, and vendor ordering procedures, and efficiently coordinate daily work distribution and patient flow.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards, and complete required education assignments annually.
Qualifications
  • Must be in the process of obtaining a CCI, ARRT, or ARDMS Registry through an accredited Cardiac Sonography Program.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification prior to hire.
