Job Highlights:
  • Sign-on bonus: $500 ($250 at 30 days; $250 at 6 months)
This Opportunity:

The Developmental Specialist Vocational is responsible for developing a positive relationship with the individuals they support, assisting them in achieving their personal dreams and goals as designated in the individual goal plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess each person's hopes, dreams, and desires, and provide supports that facilitate achievement.
  • Ensure the rights of each person are protected and promoted at all times, assisting them in developing advocacy skills and participating in advocacy efforts.
  • Serve as a resource for individuals on community agencies, services, and supports that can meet identified needs or goals.
  • Supervise, educate, and monitor individuals in work settings, including community, vocational workshops, day supports, etc.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for employees and individuals by practicing safety procedures in the community and on the job.
  • Continually educate individuals on required work procedures, facility rules, policies, practices, and their rights.
  • Facilitate person-centered, effective, positive relationships with individuals using positive approaches that promote self-determination in all areas of life.
  • Provide input and recommendations into assessment and planning processes, and development of the individual's plan.
  • Implement the person's plan fully, within the requirements of the service definition, and document as required by the service definition and agency policy.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma (required)
  • Valid driver's license (USA)
  • Experience working with adults with mental health diagnoses and/or developmental disabilities
Schedule:

Tuesday and Thursday (8:30am-2:30pm)
