Job Title: Developmental Specialist

Thom Child and Family Services is seeking a highly skilled Developmental Specialist to join their team. As a Developmental Specialist, you will work with infants and toddlers who have developmental delays or are at risk for delays, and their families, to provide early intervention services in the comfort of their own homes and community settings.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments to identify the child's developmental status.
  • Provide direct child development services and activities tailored to the child's needs and abilities.
  • Develop and implement Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) in collaboration with the family and other professionals.
  • Document progress, complete assessments, and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide individual and group interventions to support the child's cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication development.
  • Assess family and child strengths, concerns, and progress, and provide supportive professional assistance to families.
  • Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage the child's development and assist families in advocating for their child's needs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Special Education, with at least 300 hours of practicum or work experience with young children.
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, and families is preferred.
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
  • Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
  • Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally humble services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual/Bicultural a plus.

Compensation details: $50,000-$60,000 Yearly Salary
