About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team in the Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine at Augusta University. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects focused on molecular, cellular, and electrophysiological aspects of mouse taste bud regeneration.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in project planning and development of research protocols while ensuring adherence to accepted scientific research principles and compliance with relevant federal guidelines.
  • Perform a variety of molecular, cellular, and neurophysiological experiments, including the use of transgenic mouse models, in vivo nerve recording, mouse surgery, qRT-PCR, immunofluorescence, and confocal imaging.
  • Analyze results of experiments and procedures using manual or computer techniques and develop special computer programs to facilitate analysis.
  • Compose articles for publication in scientific journals and review articles prepared by others.
  • Advise principal investigators, other postdocs, students, and other research personnel on research techniques, procedures, and other technological aspects of research activities.
  • Coordinate and participate in research of scientific literature, summarize and evaluate findings, and develop derivative applications of techniques developed by own research activities or reported by other research projects.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
