Position Overview

Delta College of Arts & Technology is in search of a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Administrative Assistant at our Slidell Campus.

This position demands exceptional organizational capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and disseminate communications, reports, and other documentation, along with various clerical tasks such as data entry and filing.
  • Oversee special administrative initiatives, including the preparation for conferences.
  • Maintain accurate departmental records, encompassing student files and course materials.
  • Assist in coordinating departmental events and meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to sign-in and security protocols.
  • Act as a liaison between the Campus Director's office and other institutional departments.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support, including managing phone inquiries and responding to general questions.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as an administrative assistant or in a comparable position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience in a higher education environment is advantageous.
  • All candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
